As a big Terry Bozzio fan, I'm always looking for ways to expand the timbres of my drum kit. One way is to play the bottom of an already existing floor tom. In my case, I built myself a Frankenstein remote pedal. The pedal is from DW, the drive shaft extension from TAMA connects the axle of the DW pedal with the drive shaft of a Pearl double pedal extension. The whole construction is attached to a floor tom leg with a Sonor clamp. Such a pedal from ACD in Darwin quality would be an interesting product for me.
I've already had the honor of making a few remote pedals. Basically, it is a combination of one single pedal and a modified central unit of the middle pedal connected with a driveshaft (sometimes modified to a specific length if needed).
So it s definitely something that can be already accomplished with existing parts. I won't list such an option officially on the website. Unfortunately, the past techaed me that such "unconventional" setups usually lead to way too many curious emails and questions from people who don't want/need such a setup or generally have no clue but demand answers.. unfortunately, I simply don't have the time for that, unfortunately. - BUT if anyone is looking for such a setup and is not in a hurry, I'm always happy to set something up.
